When You Hear The Name Clay
by ymarie
When you hear the name Clay, what comes to mind?
Amazingly awesome, a singer sublime?
Astounding, incredible, best voice on the planet?
Funny and charming, and well, while we’re at it,
We’ll throw in some OMG’s and holy craps,
Stupendous, ethereal, and “Oh, what was that?”As a performer with pipes of perfection,
He’s the most magnetic, exciting, without exception.
How the heck can he do what he does?
Captivate such a diverse group as us?
Stubble, and freckles, green orbs of pure light,
The longest eyelashes, to which no man has a right. We sit here astounded at the rest of the world,
Surely they must have heard what we heard.
Don’t their ears work, don’t their eyes see?
How they can not “get it” is beyond me.
Give me thudding and squeeing, and death by GAH,
Hip, hip hooray and hallelujah! His hair and his looks may change day to day,
But some things will stay the same for always.
The heart and soul of this man remain pure,
But we’re hoping he’ll really let loose on this tour.
His wit and his banter can bring so much fun
It’s almost worth the price of admission alone.Who cares if he sings a new song or cover,
Slowly but surely he’s winning them over.
They have to let go of preconceived notions,
Just let his voice take them adrift on an ocean
Of pure bliss and feeling, because when they do,
They’ll be his forever, like me and you.
